The nightshade fear came about because nobody knew why anybody was sick.
I don't know, maybe some of you guys remember this.
30 years ago, right?
No one had an answer to why we were sick.
You would go to all the doctors and who knows.
And then eventually, alternative medicine came up with a theory that maybe it's a nightshade
because the word got out that nightshade sounds scary
because the plant grows at night.
What happens is people don't realize, right,
that a nightshade plant doesn't cause illness
unless it's a plant you're not supposed to eat.
But we have a lot of those plants out there.
We have all kinds of plants from the nightshade family and every other family and every other herb and every other spice.
There's a lot of plants you can't eat because the plant itself is poisonous.
But many plants, though, produce a non-toxic fruit.
And that's normal.
But that's normal with herbs.
It's normal with everything.
it's normal with. You can't eat the fruit tree. A fruit tree is not a nightshade. A fruit tree.
You can't eat the apple tree. You can't eat an apple stem. You'll get intoxicated, right?
The apple tree produces a beautiful apple and here it is, okay? But you're not supposed to eat
the stem, the branch that goes to the apple, and you're not supposed to eat the apple leaves.
You're not supposed to go to the apple tree and start plucking all the apple leaves and
then steam them up.
Throw some salt on them and eat them.
They're toxic.
Blueberries.
That's not a nightshade.
Blueberries.
But you're not supposed to eat the blueberry leaves.
Eat all those blueberry leaves.
You get sick.
They're toxic. Nightshades, tomatoes grow. You've got a tomato. You're not supposed to eat the
tomato plant. It's toxic, but the tomato is not toxic. Very important to know. But somewhere in
alternative medicine, when they were looking for anything under the sun, like maybe it's oxalates.
No, it's not. Maybe it's lectins. No, it's not. Maybe it's nightshades. No, it's not.
Maybe it's something else.
Maybe it's, and that's alternative medicine.
It's always been hit or miss, guessing games.
It's always missed.
It always has been missed, actually.
And so people that walk around chronic fatigue syndrome
and fibromyalgia and Hashimoto's thyroiditis
and multiple sclerosis and all these other conditions in RA,
they're walking around in neurological Lyme
and they're suffering, they're sick.
They get everything under the sun wrong,
trigeminal neuralgia, back pain, sciatic pain,
tingles and numbness, ringing in the ears,
vertigo and dizziness.
They got it all.
And it's not a nightshade that's causing it.
It's not a potato.
It's not a pepper that caused it.
It's nothing like that.
It's not an eggplant that caused it.
But this shows you how inherently wrong or inherently messed up alternative medicine could be.
It could be as nice as possible.
But when you think about all of a sudden all the mistakes that have never been corrected,
and you think about people that get derailed, it's really a sad situation.
So let's talk about nightshades a little bit.
Are they good? They're bad? No, they're good.
Now listen, when it comes down to peppers, you don't want to have them green.
You can have them green. You can.
But it's just an unripe fruit when it's green.
It's like when an apple is at its early stages.
That's not a pepper. That's not a pepper. That's not a nightshade.
But you don't want to eat an apple when it's this big and it's bright green on the tree.
you'll bite into it and be like oh my god it's sour it's toxic and you spit it out
because the apple's not ripe the pepper's not ripe and a lot of people they eat unripe peppers
and they get a little bit of heartburn from an unripe pepper not from it being nightshade
the thing is nobody picks an apple off a tree when it's green and small and eats it you want
to hear heartburn can you imagine i had can you imagine you go to the doctor it's like yeah i just
ate a, and you fib. Yeah, I just had a green pepper, and I got this heartburn. Oh, it's a
nightshade. Sorry, doc. I fibbed. I had a green apple that wasn't ripe off a tree, and it gave
me heartburn. Oh, you did? Oh, no, no. That's how wrong everything can go. It just goes wrong.
Think about that. How ridiculous is that?
A pepper has to be red or orange or yellow, right, to be ripe.
And that won't give you that reaction.
But nightshades get the blame for everything.
Because someone will have sausage and peppers and they'll blame the peppers for being the problem
as they're up all night with a bellyache or their arthritis got worse
because they had a big old sausage and pepper grinder somewhere or sandwich.
and they'll blame it on the pepper.
You go to the doctor, it's like,
well, functional medicine doctor, what did you eat?
So, hey, what did you eat?
I had a sausage and peppers last night.
Peppers, that's a nightshade.
That's why you don't feel good.
But really what was giving them the problem
was the gluten, right?
The bread, the dairy, the cheese, the butter.
That was giving them the problem.
or they're fighting pathogens and they're just sick from chronic illness from pathogens and
they're feeding pathogens all these things cheese and butter and milk it's not the night
shade it's not the potato it's not the potato here's what goes wrong with the potato you ready
for this okay you guys are seeing this potato right now close your eyes everybody close their
eyes close your eyes and i'll tell you when to open them okay you ready on the count of three
close your eyes. One, two, three, close your eyes. Now open them. Now what I just did was,
I just made, as I fall off the cutting board, I just made a potato.
Okay. But I just put butter on that potato and I just put sour cream on that potato and I just put
cheese on that potato and I just put oil on that potato and I just put bacon bits on that potato.
Now, when you eat this potato, it's not going to go great because you've got bacon and you've got
oil and you've got grease on there and you've got lard and you've got butter and you've got cream.
You've got everything under the sun that people put on potatoes.
And that's what gives potato a bad rap. It's that right there. That's what gives the
potato a problem. It's not that it's a nightshade. You just can't mix potatoes with all that fat
because you're not supposed to mix anything with all that fat. You're not supposed to mix
sweet potatoes with all that fat. You're not supposed to mix any kind of starch
with all that fat. Not to mention when people have potatoes, they always have potatoes with
butter on there and cheese and cream. And guess what? Butter and cheese and cream feeds the
pathogens that they have. So when the pathogens get fed all that butter, cream, and cheese, you guys,
then the person's arthritis and symptoms and RA and everything else gets a little worse.
And then the doctor thinks it was because of a nightshade, not because of what was on there.
Same thing with tomato. What are you having your tomato with? Is it with pizza?
If you're tomatoes with pizza, you got the cheese, you got the gluten, and if you eat all that oil and that grease, you stress out your pancreas, you stress out your liver, you stress everything out, and then you feed pathogens too.
It's not the tomatoes.
It's not that.
And that's important to know.
So when it comes down to nightshades, it's different.
People say, I can't eat a tomato.
I can't eat a tomato.
Well, you're probably eating a tomato that's not a good tomato.
Maybe it's not really sweet, so you don't like how sour it is.
But it's not because it's a nightshade that causes a problem.
Tomatoes are eaten with all the wrong things all the time.
That's how it works.
And that's important to know right there.
So the nightshade fear is another blunder from alternative medicine
that's grown out of the last few decades
because nobody knows why anybody's sick.
I remember doing lectures on it
and people were like,
what, what, what, what?
How can he say this?
Nightshades are bad.
And everybody got in fear of nightshades
and guess what?
The people who were avoiding nightshades
still stayed sick
and still had all their conditions,
still took their medications and drugs,
still had surgeries
and they were avoiding nightshades.
Meanwhile, tomatoes,
they're antiviral, antibacterial.
Potatoes, antibacterial, antiviral.
And what happens is the potato or the tomato
becomes the messenger that you're doing something else wrong.
Yeah, piling up all the wrong stuff on those things
and falling into the nightshade trap.
This concludes this live exclusive video,
and I can't wait to see you guys again.
Much love. God bless you.
